Botanical description	The elemi is a large tropical tree. Its aromatic gum resin exuded by the trunk has a texture reminiscent of honey which solidifies on contact with air.
Olfactory description	Its essential oil, which is colorless to pale yellow in color, gives off a spicy, citrusy odor.
