Himalayan spikenard is a 10-60 cm tall perennial rhizomatous plant found in the subalpine and alpine regions of Nepal. It is found in the altitudinal range of 3600-4500m in open rocky places. The rhizomes are aromatic, brown in color and covered with hairs.
