Change is now

You never know when real change might occur and impact your life. Or maybe, it is the other way round - real change happens everyday but we let it come and go most of the times despite the uncomfortable situations it puts us through again and again.

In the past years I have ignored opportunities that came my way, or maybe I was blind to them. Thinking about a deep change always provoked in me an irrational fear.

Change often comes with fears of the unknown. I was taught to be cautious of the unknown, as it is believed to be full of dangers. But this is not true.

Change becomes full of positive energy once you have gathered strength to silence the inner voice that influences you to stay in your comfort zone.

Strangely, changing in order to be happy is feared more than staying in adverse situations and suffering repeatedly. Maybe because despite the unpleasantness of it all, familiarity provides comfort. You become used to the suffering.

The decision to change comes without really thinking about it. If you think too much, you might end up not doing anything. This moment comes to you naturally. After all the previous opportunities you did not see, one comes that you do not let go. So, you jump into the void, and try to imagine what your life could be after that.

Hopefully friends are of great help in such a transition to maintain a certain sense of humanity and to make these fears more surmountable.

At the early stages of change, you can hardly see what would come next. This time is crucial for questioning everything. I asked myself what is important and what is not in finding my almost forgotten dreams and trying to fulfill them.

“Everything you can imagine is real.”— Pablo Picasso

Change is bringing so much positivity into my life right now I would not have even imagined a few months ago.

I will be busy in the upcoming months doing what I like the most.

After 17 years of working in sales and marketing positions in the fragrance sector, I am back to school to learn another facet, the one of designing perfumes, an artistic activity that has a lot in common with photography.

As a photographer, the first time I shared my pictures with an audience left a lasting impression on me. I realised that my initial intention when I took those photos differed from what the audience saw in them. Despite looking at the same image, we have different interpretations and this fascinates me.

It seems that fragrances go far beyond a difference of views. Since perfumes are invisible, they sparkle imagination and connect instantly to personal memories that are certainly far from the original intention of the perfumer.

The however still abstract idea of stirring people’s memories through fragrances I might create one day is so moving to me.

I surprise myself by envisioning my life as a succession of sensible activities to express and share my sense of beauty through photography and perfumery.

Let’s believe my dreams to make it happen!
