Botanical description	This species of Boswellia is a small deciduous tree growing to a height of 2–8 m. It is one of the main species from which incense is extracted. The resin is harvested by making a shallow incision in the trunk or branches of the tree and removing a narrow strip of bark. A milky sap flows out, which coagulates on contact with air and is then collected by hand.
Olfactory description	Its pale to dark yellow essential oil, extracted from the resin, gives off a resinous, minty and woody odor.
